And the winner is …

The 2008 election cycle is over. For both the US Presidential election and for the OLPC Boston meet night poll.

Our little poll was not as important as the national election, but almost as decisive: more than half of responders want to meet on weekday nights. And the preference for 5:30-7:30 was by far the largest vote-getter.

So in accordance with the will of the majority here is the schedule for the 2008-2009 “season” of meet-ups:

September 2008 Meetup

Where: OLPC offices, 1 Cambridge Center (Kendall Square), Cambridge MA.  (also known as 1CC)

When: Saturday, Sept. 27 from 11am to 12:30pm.

Why: You’ve never seen so many XOs in one place at one time! Just booting up your XO to look at the network view is worth the trip.

Directions:

Taking the T: Kendall Square stop on the Red Line. 1CC is at the east end of Kendall Square (towards the Longfellow Bridge).

Driving: Main Street Cambridge is one way towards Boston in Kendall Square.

  1. If you’re coming from the east (Boston), cross over the Longfellow and drive down Broadway past the Marriott hotel. Turn left on Ames St., drive one block and turn left onto Main St. Coming from the west just drive east on Main St. towards Boston.
  2. Turn right onto Hayward Street. There is an MIT parking lot (with guard shack) on the right side. On the weekends there is no charge and no guard. Just don’t park in a “reserved” spot — the rest of the lot is open for use.

We’ll be meeting in a group outside the building, as we have to have an escort to enter the building.

Looking forward to seeing everyone there.
